| Making a Killing in Show Business |
This murder mystery never saw the light of day. It was to be done for a charitable organization but not enough ticket sales were made to justify the cost of putting it up. But it did get as far as the publicity photo stage, and since the girls went through all the trouble to tease out their hair, I figured I'd list it here on my website.
My original notes for the mystery died with a computer that did the same several years ago. This is the plot as far as I can remember. A singing sister act, whose names were Janet and Patsy, is on the cusp of signing a major recording contract. However, they have to deal with their shady agent, their heavily in debt recording company owner, an obsessive fan, a reporter who will do anything for a story--even make one up, and a heartthrob responsible for driving a wedge between the girls.
I don't even remember the character's names, outside of Janet and Patsy, but I do know who was supposed to play who from the pictures. Here is the cast.
Janet: Karen Padden
Patsy: Kelly Clisham
Agent: Warren Rosengrant
Record Company Owner: Neil Andress
Obsessive Fan: Paul Clisham
Boyfriend: Rob Padden
Reporter: Mimi Kammer
Another thing I remember is the fact that one of my actresses (and good friend) Kelly Clisham couldn't sing if you had a gun to her head. I believe we came up with a number of excuses to keep the girls from singing.
